Enable the Terrain toggle and zoom in to see contour lines and elevation. At the bottom of the screen, tap the name or address of the place. It's not immediately clear when Google Maps will roll out the feature in other regions, but it should happen in stages. What to Know Click Layers and choose Terrain from the pop-up menu.
While that may not be a large number given the vast network of roads in these regions, it should still cover most of the major toll booths and offer a decent idea about how much drivers will have to pay on their route. Google said that it had collected toll price information from local authorities for nearly 2,000 roads in the supported countries leading up to the feature's release. To reinstate toll routes later on, just uncheck the box. Open Google Maps on your phone and tap on the Saved button to open the Saved locations tab. The Maps Static API returns an image (either GIF, PNG or JPEG) in response to an HTTP request via a URL. To do this, open the Settings menu (three dots at the top right) again within the Google Maps app after entering the destination, then tap ‘ Route Options.’ Users will then see the option to ‘ Avoid tolls’ under ‘ Driving Options.’ Check the box to bypass tolls. Tap the three button menu in the top right and select Download offline map. Tap the red marker once you can find the location to see its details. Pull up the bottom menu until it covers the map.
This is best for those who aren’t pressed for time on their journey, as avoiding tolls typically means going the long way. Just open the Google maps app and search the location you need. Google Maps users also have the option to be shown only the routes that avoid tolls entirely.
